DX2 TUNER: CAN Bus, OBD & UDS Development Display
The TIRINI DX2 TUNER is the complete version of the 2.8” touchscreen display, developed for users who want access to vehicle data, CAN Bus monitoring, configurable OBD and UDS requests, programmable analog events and custom display configurations.
DX2 TUNER can be purchased as a complete display or permanently unlocked from a DX2 CORE or DX2 PRO. TUNER functions can be activated without replacing the display or purchasing additional hardware.
Its compact racing-inspired enclosure, large gear display and five integrated RGB shift lights combine the complete DX2 driving interface with practical vehicle-data development tools.
GEAR, RPM AND ENGINE DATA
• All DX2 CORE and DX2 PRO features
• Real-time gear and RPM display
• P, R, N and D shifter-position indication
• Five configurable RGB shift lights
• Individual RPM shift points for each gear
• Multiple configurable shift-light behaviours
• Launch Control detection
• Live engine-data monitoring
• Up to 12 configurable data channels
• Configurable gauge pages and alarm thresholds
• Minimum and maximum value memory
• Modern Race and Classic Rally display styles
• Selectable display and shift-light colours
STANDALONE SEQUENTIAL GEARBOX INPUT
• Compatible with potentiometer-based gear-position sensors
• Compatible with Hall-effect position sensors
• Compatible with variable-resistance sensors
• Sensor reference voltage supplied directly by the DX2
• No separate sensor controller or reference-voltage supply required
• Can operate without an ECU or existing CAN Bus gear signal
• Sensor ranges calibrated directly from the touchscreen
• Individual voltage or resistance ranges assigned to each gear
• Calculated sequential gearbox position displayed in real time
PROGRAMMABLE ANALOG INPUT
DX2 TUNER expands the PRO analog input with configurable events, alarms and CAN-message transmission.
• Create custom analog-input thresholds and operating ranges
• Use the analog input as an event trigger
• Activate a visual or RGB LED alarm when a configured condition is reached
• Configure a CAN message to be transmitted when an analog event is activated
• Configure the CAN ID, message data and event conditions from the touchscreen
CAN BUS TOOLS
• Live CAN Bus monitoring
• Search and isolate individual CAN IDs
• Display changing message bytes in real time
• Create custom CAN messages
• Configure the CAN ID, data length and message bytes
• Send a custom message once or continuously
• Configure the transmission frequency
• Configure supported CAN Bus communication speeds
OBD AND UDS CONFIGURATION
• Dedicated OBD and UDS configuration pages
• Create configurable OBD and UDS diagnostic requests
• Configure request and response CAN IDs
• Configure the OBD service, PID or UDS data identifier
• Configure request data and transmission frequency
• View raw diagnostic responses
• Configure how response data is extracted and calculated
• Assign configured values to DX2 data channels and gauges
OBD and UDS configuration requires knowledge of the vehicle’s communication protocol. Manufacturer-specific data identifiers, calculations and compatibility can vary between vehicles.
CUSTOM DATA CHANNELS AND GAUGES
• Assign CAN, OBD and UDS data to configurable data channels
• Select CAN IDs, bytes, bits and data length
• Configure signed and unsigned values
• Configure multipliers, divisors and offsets
• Set custom gauge titles, units and decimal precision
• Set minimum and maximum gauge ranges
• Create warning and alarm thresholds
• Create custom engine-data pages
CUSTOMISATION
• Selectable startup logo and splash screen
• Configurable colour themes
• Custom gauge titles and units
• Vehicle-specific data configuration
CONNECTIONS
• Connection through the vehicle’s OBD port
• Direct CAN Bus and diagnostic communication
• USB-C connection for power and firmware updates
• Standalone analog input for potentiometer, Hall-effect or variable-resistance sensors
• Sensor reference voltage supplied directly by the DX2
• Suitable for integration with modified vehicles, race cars and external systems
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Vehicle and data-channel compatibility is not guaranteed
• DX2 TUNER does not automatically identify unknown CAN, OBD or UDS data
• It does not currently read or clear vehicle fault codes
• Custom CAN messages must be correctly configured and safely tested
• Manufacturer-specific diagnostic data may require independent research
Incorrect CAN messages or diagnostic requests can interfere with vehicle communication. Custom configurations should be tested in a controlled environment before being used while driving.
Most monitoring and configuration functions are completed directly from the DX2 touchscreen. A computer may be used for firmware updates and external data analysis.
The DX2 platform remains under active development. Additional functions, supported vehicle configurations and development tools may be introduced through future firmware updates.
Future firmware feature: SimHub gear, RPM and RGB shift-light support is planned and is not available in firmware version 1.18.
CAN Bus transmission and diagnostic tools are intended for controlled development, testing and motorsport applications.
Because every enthusiast is a little bit of a tuner.
